  1. well obviously it rectifies the horridness of ‘Last Stand’ – the one X-men movie where the fans wanted to crucify the writers (.. and hack director Bretr Ratner). Here though, the elements of what made X2 so great are evident and work to such brilliant effect under Singer’s competent direction. Aside from Storm who stands around and basically does nothing, a huge flaw in the entire film series, all the characters seem so well integrated – and ties storylines and character development that were previously established in prior movies. The action set pieces are something to behold – most notably Evan Peter’s Quicksilver – if you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about. (that scene also is best experienced in 3D). All in all, for fans of X1 and X2 (I must confess, ‘First Class’ didn’t impress me all that much) this is a worthy sequel
