2013 Capital Fringe Show Preview ‘Double Freakquency’ by Liz Sykes

Double Freakquency is an interactive theater experience that uses wireless two-channel headphones enabling the audience to choose what they hear. All sound – dialogue, ambient noise, music – is heard through the headphones, meaning no two viewing experiences are the same.

The story explores the strained relationship two friends in the aftermath of a scheme gone wrong. Along with their unsuspecting roommates, Alex and Renee confront the actions that fractured their friendship and, ultimately, bring them back together. Through using the headphones, the audience decides between listening to one character’s thoughts verses their words, switches between simultaneous conversations, or hears characters discussing the same event both in the past and present.

Producers Adam Stackhouse and Liz Sykes have been creating immersive experiences using headphones and digital media since 2007. Their company, AVAdventure Productions, has produced entertainment, team building, and educational experiences designed for a variety of audiences. The company is based in Richmond, Virginia.

Double Freakquency will premier at the Capital Fringe Festival TONIGHT, Thursday, July 11th at The Studio Theatre-located in Logan Circle. For show and ticket information visit our website.
