Capital Fringe Review ‘The Human Algorithm’ by Erica Laxson

FOUR AND A HALF STARS
The Human Algorithm presented by Eating an Elephant Productions is a truly unique one woman show starring Cigdem Oktem that will forever change your view of people and set your sides splitting from laughter. Both an anecdotal comedian and an observational philosopher, Oktem delves into what makes man tick and what ticks her the fuck off. Oh yes, there’s plenty of profanity, so watcher beware of her snarky story telling style rife with foul language and crass humor.

The simplistic beauty of this show is what makes it so endearing. Oktem shares hilarious personal stories, made even funnier if you know her, that serve a dual purpose of picking apart what makes us each unique and urges us to laugh with her at the absurdity of life. An uplifting event that invites you to examine which kind of human you are. This is the perfect show for lovers of comedy, anyone who’s had a memorable experience with a cab driver, and people with short attention spans.

Running time: 60 minutes.

The Human Algorithm plays through July 20, 2013 at Caos on F –  923 F Street NW, in Washington, DC. For performance information and to purchase tickets, go to their Capital Fringe page.
